REVIEW: PRIMARK BRUSH CLEANSER

Hello guys, whilst I was shopping the other day in Primark

Something caught my eye and that was this Primark Brush Cleanser.

I own one by MAC and it cost me £12, so to see a brush cleanser for £2.00 I couldn't not pick it up!

I thought I'd review this product for you guys as if you are a Makeup artist and you need to spot clean your brushes, or even if you need to wash your brushes and you're in a hurry, then I thought this post would be handy!

Heres a picture of all the brushes before using the brush cleanser.

I took quite a few with and without the flash just so you could see they are very dirty and that way you can really see the difference the cleaner makes.

The brushes featured - Top to bottom:

Zoeva 288
MAC 217 blending brush
Real Techniques base shadow brush
MAC 266 angled brush

I placed the brush that I was cleaning at the time on a bit of tissue, as you will see from the upcoming pictures, I then sprayed the cleanser straight onto the brushes brissles, then started swirling the brush into a clean tissue.

This product didn't leave my brush bristles feeling dry or anything, they actually felt lovely and smooth and as you can see the brush cleaned up very well and the dirt had all gone.

This brush is made out of synthetic hair which is a lot easier to remove product from anyway so lets test out the next brush.

This next brush is from the brand Zoeva (228) and is made of a mixture of natural-synthetic hair.

The hairs on this brush are also white, which means they are a lot harder to get clean.

As you will see from this photo the bristles are absolutely filthy.

I was so shocked how much the cleanser actually got rid of so much product, literally nothing was left in the brush hairs.

There hairs towards the end were stained a tiny bit darker than the rest but that is completely normal for a white haired brush.
I'm so impressed!

Lastly is a brush I've had for a year now and that is the MAC 266 angled brush, I use this much specifically for cream and powder products, especially with my brow wax.

As you can see the bristles were stuck together due to so much product being on the brush.

The brush now looks good as new and product free.
It is made of synthetic fibres which of course like I said previously is the best type to get clean.

For some reason I didn't photograph any pictures of my MAC 217 blending brush on its own, but I found it cleaned up just aswell, if not better than the Zoeva 228.

Here are the finish results of all the brushes together!

I inserted this collage just so you can see the before and after pictures right next to each other.

My thoughts:

I absolutely love this product and couldn't recommend it more, especially for the price!

I wouldn't use it personally to deep clean my brushes but when I'm spot cleaning them or if I'm in a hurry to do my makeup and my brushes are dirty then I'd definitely use it.

What I also love about this product is it smells so fresh and lovely, I love the fact that it doesn't smell like a typical cleaning product as I find some can smell very over powering.

The best thing is that it comes with a pump, even the MAC brush cleaner doesn't come with a pump!

Meaning that you wont waste product and you can spray it directly onto the brush, where as I found I wasted a lot of product with the MAC one and it would all spill out and make a mess.

I'm definitely going to stock up, as I'm worried Primark may discontinue it or I may never find it again.

Thank you so much for reading this blog post, I hope it helped some of you who are looking to purchase a brush cleaning product or even just to test it out.

If there are any other products you'd like me to review for you then please let me know!

Favourite Highlighters: Drugstore & Highend!

Hey guys, I thought I'd share with you a couple of my favourite drugstore and high end highlighters.

Recently I've noticed everyones crazy about powder highlighters and the newest trend 'Strobing'
which in my opinion is just very intense highlighting, so I'm just going to share my favourite ones with you.

First off, my favourite drugstore highlighter of all time has to be the Makeup Revolution vivid baked highlighter in 'Golden lights'.

I was disappointed as the swatch on my hand looks very white based, but in person I assure you this is the most beautiful golden iridescent shade,

This can be worn toned down or very intense. I, myself love an intense highlight in the summer time and find this to be absolutely stunning when the sun hits it. It really helps bring out my cheek bones.

I bought this product for £3, £3!! in my local Superdrug, I feel as if I need to stock up on about 10 of these just incase they discontinue or remake the formula.

I find this looks beautiful with a tan or even if you have quite fair skin, they also have two other colours in the range, 'Pink lights' and 'Peach lights'

I'd highly recommend checking all three out, as you may find you don't like this one for your skin tone and one of the other shades would compliment your complexion/skin tone more.

My second favourite highlighter from the drugstore is also by the brand
Makeup Revolution.
As well as their Vivid Baked Highlighters, they have Vivid Baked Bronzers.

This is in the shade 'Rock on world'.

I personally prefer a matte bronzer all year round, but if you like a bit of a glow then this one is definitely for you!

You can apply this product as a bronzer if you wish do to so, but I find this the perfect bronze highlight for when I have a tan.

I first apply my original bronzer to warm up my skin and then apply this to my cheek bones, I personally don't apply it to anywhere else on my face apart from my temples.
As I find it may make you look a tad bit orange if you apply to much to areas such as the tip of the nose, cupids bow, the forehead and chin.

This product has a very orange/bronze undertone so apply lightly unless you want to look like you've been tangoed!

An absolute must for the summertime if you are wanting to look like a bronze goddess.

I was also amazed by the price with this also as it again cost me only £3!

How could this be a favourite highlighter post without mentioning the most hyped/loved product in the make-up industry?!

Of course I'm talking about MAC's Soft and Gentle.

I put off buying this product for a long time as I found it to be very expensive for what it was but when I finally caved in and bought it I just knew it was totally worth the price tag.

It's a very universal highlighter I find, perfect if you have very fair to medium, and I find even darker skin tones can get away with it.

It has golden/peach and almost a champagne undertone to it.

I find with this highlighter you can wear it all year round as it's not as intense as the past two highlighters I've mentioned.

If you are of a younger age group and are just starting out using makeup or buying your first highlighter I couldn't recommend this one more.

You can build this up to be very intense if you would like but I find you won't end up looking like a disco ball, unlike some highlighters on the market.

Price wise, this cost me £23 and I still have plenty left.

Next up is sadly Limited Edition and one of my most expensive highlighters.

It's the Bobbi Brown High Light Powder in the shade 'Bronze Glow'

I'm so sad that this product is Limited Edition, for me this is one of the best highlighters I own.

As the name suggests, it has a bronze/golden undertone.

So absolutely perfect for medium to darker skin tones, When I have a tan this is one of my go to's!

Also as it's Bobbi Brown it is of very high quality, I wish they'd bring out this again in a further collection or even make it permanent.

I find this is perfect for night time or even if you're going somewhere fancy in the day,
I feel as the product is expensive itself if makes you feel somewhat fancy when you wear it.

I bought this for around £26 in Duty free last November when I went on holiday to the U.S.

I think this must of been about £30/£33 full price.

Sorry to share a Limited Edition product but I do believe if you looked on Ebay or Amazon you'd maybe be able to still pick it up!

Last of all, the Queen of all highlighters!

BECCA COSMETICS X JACLYN HILL'S CHAMPANGE POP!

This is also Limited Edition but it is still available at the moment (I believe)

You can purchase it from www.sephora.com or if you're lucky enough to live in the States or somewhere that has a Sephora, you can pick it up in store!

I had to save this one until last as it's very special to me.

I purchase every product that Jaclyn Hill collaborates on/makes with a brand.

I love supporting someone who is such an inspiration to me, she's one of the first proper makeup artists I ever watched on Youtube and actually learnt something from.

She also lives in Florida, which is somewhere I've visited ever since I was a child and somewhere I go back to near enough every year as it's my favourite place in the world.

I'm so happy Jaclyn collaborated with Becca Cosmetics as I've been dying to purchase one of Becca's highlighters for almost a year now but never actually got round to deciding which one I'd like.

But as soon as I heard Jaclyn mention 'Champagne Pop' I just knew that would be my first one!

Not only is this a very high quality highlighter but it is also a beautiful shade for every skin tone.

As the name suggests its a beautiful champagne colour with slight peach and golden undertones.

Suitable for every skin tone out there!

The product itself cost me around £44.00, with the shipping and taxes.

But if you are a lover of makeup/highlighters, its a great investment!

I couldn't be more happy for Jaclyn to be able to be given such an amazing opportunity with such an amazing brand, she really does deserve it.

1,000 highlighters were sold every minute on Sephora.com and it also won best selling product.

So you just know this is a must have in your collection!

Thank you so much for reading this blog post, I really hope you enjoyed it and helped some of you that are maybe looking for a new highlighter to add to your makeup collection.

Please leave me your favourite highlighters in the comments as I'm always on the look out to try more.
